Alappuzha, often known as Alleppey, is a town in the Alappuzha District of Kerala, a state in southern India. This township is thought to be the oldest designed settlement in the state, and the lighthouse placed on its coast is one of the first of its sort along the Arabian coast. Alappuzha, often known as Alleppey, is located 62 kilometres south of Kochi and 155 km north of Trivandrum.Lord Curzon dubbed it as the “Venice of the East” because of its attractive backwaters, beaches, canals, and lagoons.
