After arriving in Jammu, start traveling to Pahalgam, also referred to as the "Valley of Shepherds" (94 km/about 3 hours). While traveling, see the historic Avantipura Ruins and a nearby cricket bat factory, as well as the aromatic saffron fields of Pampore, the center of Kashmir's saffron industry.
